Aug. 26 - Rest Day; Aug. 27 - 4 Miles Ran

The final week begins!  I took Monday off after 4 consecutive days of running including a pretty tiring weekend in NYC.  I got back out there after work today for 4 miles in Glastonbury.  The humidity is back, but overall it was not too bad.  The hard part of today's run was overcoming a late night of planning for the finale on Sun.  I have been trying to work out a ton of logistical issues-permits, parking, police escorts, tent, support at Chalk Hill, returning people to their cars, even the possibility of broadcasting parts of my run to those waiting at Chalk Hill (I know, a little over the top but hey, why not try to finish in style?)

Other big news...thanks to Becky Kowalski, I am now an official entrant in the 2013 New York Marathon.  Apparently, 1,000 miles doesn't cut it anymore!  Seriously, this is an unbelievable opportunity that I greatly appreciate--now I have 8 weeks to ramp up from 8-10 mile runs to 26!  I would love to continue my fundraising efforts for Chase's Memorial Fund, but I know the Race4Chase teammates connected with my effort have already given generously.  I'll have to find a way to reach out to a broader scope--if any blog followers have ideas, please let me know.

I completed miles 967-970, sponsored by Keith Webster.  Thanks Web!
