It was an early Wed morning for the Bresna house as Shea began her first day of 7th grade. Her bus comes at 6:20am, which essentially gets the family going around 5:30am. After a mini fashion show and a little scrambling to finish a summer learning packet, Shea was off to school, and I had time for a nice, easy 4 mile run around Day Pond (2 laps). In furtherance of my goal to "broadcast" part of my final run, I made a FaceTime call to Ellie during my run and it met with moderate success. The call disconnected after a few minutes but we were able to reconnect. The last missing piece to recreate this at Chalk Hill on Sun is an internet connection at the school, but I think we should be able to create a hotspot there with either Ellie's or my sister's phone. We'll see how it turns out.
It was a little muggy but still fairly cool at 7am. Between fiddling around with my phone and taking a few pictures of the misty pond, I had a very leisurely run. I completed miles 971-974, sponsored by Keith Webster. Thanks a lot Web, nice to be running for you down the stretch! I plan to do a 4 mile run today (Th) and 8 on Fri which will bring my total to 986 miles, setting me up for a prep day on Sat and the 14-mile finale on Sun.
