Today was a very special day on the journey to 1,000 miles. Lindsay Knauf, who is running 26 races this year for each Sandy Hook family (
26in2013forsandyhook.blogspot.com), ran the Stratton Faxon Greater Danbury Road Race in Chase's memory. We made plans to connect at the race, and my entire family (brother, sister, in-laws and the kids) joined in. Lindsay is a genuinely nice and giving person and in short order became an honorary Bresnahan.
I'm not exactly sure why, but Danbury News-Times reporters covering the race became interested in our family as we celebrated finishing the 5K and mugged for smart phone photos near the finish line. The end result was the following article:

It was an amazing family day, capped off with a little publicity for the cause. Now if I can only do something about the Randy Travis post-race hair problem (the News-Times may have wisely taken down the offending photo-I'm hoping that's the case!)
Including a warm-up mile and a half mile run with Lindsay to finish the race with her, I covered miles 349-353 today. These miles were sponsored by Jana & Jeff Charles (349) and Jeanette Bill-Cole (350-353). Thank you Jana, Jeff and Jeanette for supporting the cause.
