Feb. 17, 7.1 Miles Ran, 13 Miles Sponsored

Tough day out there, mid 20's and high winds.  I guess a few days in the mid 40's made me a little soft because I really had to drag myself out there today.  Other than periodic head winds and the loop around the unplowed Day Pond, the run turned out okay.  I pretty much speedwalked about 7/10ths of a mile around pond.  I passed a couple of snow shoers and thought I could run in their tracks...um, not so much.  My feet kept punching through the crusty top layer so I ended up high-stepping around the entire loop--took me about 13 minutes to "run" 0.7 miles and I'm sure it didn't look pretty.

I completed miles 164-169 sponsored by Ashish Modi and 170 sponsored by Karen Krajcik Myette.  Thanks Ashish and Karen!

Christina Hansen and Family (Scott, Pavel and Nikita) from Monroe sponsored 13 miles.  Christina will be running a half marathon (13.1 miles) in April and was graciously willing to sponsor a similar amount of miles.  Thanks Christina for your generosity and best of luck in the racel.  Hopefully you can think of Chase and get a boost during some part of the race.  The Hansen Family has miles 291, 293-300 and 302-305.  At my current pace I should reach mile 305 on March 27th.

NOT a USTA approved course!

Not sure why but this time I didn't heed the STOP sign.

Following footsteps in 2 feet of snow makes for an interesting run.

Dirt roads amazingly well maintained at the 6.2 mile mark.
